Martina Seifert
Martina Seifert is currently working as a DAAD lecturer at Queen’s University, Belfast, while completing her PhD dissertation on images of Canada in German children’s and youth literature. She graduated from the University of Leipzig, Germany, in English, German, and German as a Foreign Language. Her publications include book chapters and articles on postmodernism and fantasy in children’s literature, on Canadian time-travel stories, on the animal stories of Charles G. D. Roberts, and on contemporary Newfoundland literature. Her book, Rewriting Newfoundland Mythology (2002) deals with the changing approaches to the regional in contemporary Newfoundland literature, taking as an example the works of Tom Dawe. She is also the co-author of Ent-Fernungen (2006), a two-volume study on interculturality in German children’s literature after 1945.
