Dr. Sam Tsemberis

Dr. Sam Tsemberis is a clinical-community psychologist who developed the Housing First model. He serves as President/CEO of the Pathways Housing First Institute and faculty Department of Psychiatry, of New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center. He is also Clinical Director for Housing First for Youth, Canada. His Housing First program is now implemented across the United States, Canada, the EU, and New Zealand and is an integral approach in national policies on homelessness. Dr. Tsemberis has published many articles and book chapters. He has received numerous honours and awards including the American Psychiatric Association’s Gold Award for Community Mental Health Programs and the Distinguished Contribution to Independent Practice Award from the American Psychological Association.
