Tony Clarke is the founding director of the Polaris Institute, former chair of the Action Canada Network, and director of social affairs at the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.His books include Silent Coup: Confronting the Big Business Takeover of Canada, CCPA/Lorimer, 1997; and Blue Gold: The Battle Against Corporate Theft of the World’s Water (with Maude Barlow), which is published in forty countries. He was 2005 corecipient (with Maude Barlow) of the Swedish Right Livelihood Award. He is a member of the CCPA Board.
