"We Hired Hitler!"

New!

From: Myths of Modern History

$4.50

This chapter explores the rise of fascism in Europe, highlighting the fact that Europe’s upper class used its wealth and influence to create fascist movements everywhere and to bring fascists to power whenever this proved possible– namely via intrigues and coups d’état. It discusses fascism in Germany and Italy in particular, antisemitism, and Hitler’s rise to power. It debunks the popular conception that Hitler managed to come to power in 1933 thanks to the support of the German people; it proposes, instead, that Hitler’s rise to power in 1933 was made possible by major financial and other assistance from Germany’s industrialists and bankers and the country’s elite in general.
