Jean Quirion

Jean Quirion, C. Term., is a professor and former head of the Département d’études langagières at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. He obtained a PhD in linguistics with a specialization in terminology from the Université de Montréal. His research interests include terminology and its implantation, terminometrics, language planning, language technology, and lexicography. He is the author of La mesure de l’implantation terminologique: Proposition d’un protocole. Étude terminométrique du domaine des transports au Québec (2003), published as part of the Langues et sociétés collection of the Office québécois de la langue française.

Jacynthe Lanthier obtained a BA in translation and writing from the Université du Québec en Outaouais, where she also worked as a research assistant for two years. Working on a terminometric research project with Jean Quirion, she has presented the results at a number of conferences and has co-written an article published in Actualité langagière. She is currently pursuing an MA in linguistics at the Université de Montréal.
