Monika Firl

Monika Firl has worked in the Cooperative Coffees Montreal office since 2002 as green coffee buyer, producer relations manager and, now, as director of sustainability. Prior to this, she lived and worked in Central America and Mexico for nearly a decade, promoting locally based development projects focused on alternative technology, farmer-to-farmer learning, best organic practices and alternative markets. This cumulative experience has fueled her keen interest in the symbiotic role of healthy soil, carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation. Monika holds a master’s degree in journalism as well as a bachelor’s in international relations and German.
