Dimension was lucky to have some of the most senior and respected left trade unionists and labour academics writing in its pages. And, from the 1980s, it also had several regular labour columnists, steeped in labour lore, who ensured that the issues were covered with some expertise and regularity. There are simply too many labour and work issues to do justice to in this chapter and so we have concentrated on a few.
Larry Haiven is a professor in the Management Department of the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. He is an active researcher, writer and frequent commentator in areas of industrial relations, industrial conflict, labour markets and labour law. Judy Haiven is an Associate Professor in the Management Department at the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. She researches and writes in the areas of industrial relations, women and work and equity in the workplace and the wider community. She joined the CD collective in 2013.
