James N. McCrorie
James N. McCrorie (1936–2013) was born and raised in Montreal. His early work on the Saskatchewan farmers movement, In Union is Strength, was followed by numerous academic books, articles and papers covering Canadian, Scottish, Chinese and Russian rural policies. McCrorie founded the Sociology Department at the University of Regina in 1965 and later ran the Canadian Plains Research Centre.
