M. Teresa Cabré Castellví

M. Teresa Cabré Castellví obtained a PhD in Romance philology from the University of Barcelona (1977) and is currently a professor of linguistics and terminology at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Spain as well as a member of the Secció Filològica at the Institute of Catalan Studies, the most important scholarly society in Catalonia. At UPF, she was the founding director of the Applied Linguistics Research Institute (Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada, IULA), which she directed from 1994 to 2004. She was a founding member of the Ibero-American Terminology Network (Riterm), the Pan-Latin Terminology Network (Realiter), and the European Association for Terminology (EAFT). She is currently president of AETER (Spanish Terminology Association). She is also on the editorial boards of several international journals, including Terminology. She has published more than a hundred papers in national and international journals and has authored several books. Originally written in Catalan, La terminologia: La teoria, els mètodes, les aplicacions (1992) has since been translated into Spanish (1993), French (1998), and English (1999).
